After witnessing the brutal death of your best friend, Devon Whicker, you’re quickly thrown into a world of murder accusations suffocating you in your small town. You barely have time to grieve before you’re thrust into the public eye. Everyone’s turned against you—except for three of your peers.

You never imagined being blamed for simply finding a dying boy in a stairwell, but here you are with nearly no one left to turn to. Navigate through your new normal while trying to piece together Devon’s murder, start a potential romance, and keep your own sanity.

  • Customizable MC (gender, pronouns, appearance, etc.)
  •  Romance 1 of 3 LI’S, one male, one non-binary, and one female option.
  • Make impactful choices that will affect your relationships with characters and how your MC goes through the story.
  • Uncover a twisting murder mystery and enjoy your remaining memories with the victim.

VELIA HALL [F | SHE/HER | 18 | 5’9” | ROMANCABLE  BY NB + FEMALE MCS]

Velia is your neighbor of six years. She’s popular and it baffles you she even talks to you, you’re sure it’s just the nostalgia from an old middle school friendship that keeps her loyal. She's warm, incredibly smart, and always greets you with a cup of hot chocolate with extra whip cream–just how you like it.

BLAISE NIEVES [NB | THEY/THEM | 17 | 5"5 | ROMANCABLE BY ALL MCS]

Blaise is your best friend, besides Devon, and the three of you have been a dynamic trio since junior year. They always smell of leftover cigarette smoke (yuck) and you know they wouldn't hesitate to punch someone for you despite their small stature. They’re snarky and overly confident and is always one to steal the extra fries from your plate at lunch.

AMBROSE LOCKHEART [M | HE/HIM | 17 | 6"1 | ROMANCABLE BY ALL MCS]

Ambrose is your lanky, sweater-wearing tutor. The two of you meet every Monday and Wednesday to go over your workload. He’s painfully shy and you’re pretty sure the only reason he agreed to tutor you was the fact that he’s had a massive crush on you since freshman year (he’s never told you directly but the blushing and seemingly unnoticed staring tells you otherwise).

This story will be co-written, and the plan is to have individual routes for each love interest with a bad and good ending for each! As this is our first try coding and writing an interactive fiction story there, unfortunately, won’t be platonic routes.

Updates and character portraits are posted on our Tumblr, and we also answer asks/scenarios about characters there as well. If you spot any typos or bugs, please let us know there as well <3

Hi?

i really hope you didn't give up on this! i already love the characters and can't wait until there's another part if at all.

Is there only a demo so far?

I read this IF a long time ago, but I sincerely hope it hasn't been abandoned 🥹. It's quite intriguing and full of potential.

That gave me "The Fog Knows Your Name" vibes for some reason :P. And also, none of the LI are my type BUT I'm curious about the story.

(1 edit)

How do I go to the next page/slide?

:( im stuck here

(+2)

That happened to me too since you're on phone I recommend switching the browser to "desktop site" since that seems to fix it!:D

tysmmmm ❤️

I've been waiting for a reply for quite sometime 🙂

Nppp! I hoped it helped!

(btw I love your Mob pfp)

it definitely did <3

Ahhh ...finally someone who also watched mob ✨ tyyyy ;)

This story made me actually cry it's so sad. Hope the MC gets the answers they need they deserve it and Devon is avenged.

Very good writing, good subject and story, I was hooked from the beginning, and I really like that racism is a big part of the story, because it has to be discussed and to be reminded constantly of. BUT: first, the author didn’t consider MC of color, the story just doesn’t acknowledge it. If you wanted to go for an experience of non poc with racism, then it doesn’t make sense for darker skin options for MCs. And second thing, I had no idea Velia is black until I read the comments and I just thought that she’s just really really afraid of cops, bc the whole scene didn’t make sense to me, at first. But at the end I truly like it. The premise is good and I’m excited where the story take me.

I’ve definitely taken into account Mc’s of color into the future update and I plan to go back and add coding scenes specifically for that! As a black author it’s important that the customization affects the story this was just a quick demo that will def have major changes in the future, and when you first meet Velia her locs are described which was how I was showing the reader she was black but it’s easy to miss so I’ll most likely add more detail in!

lovely game with fantastic writing! im excited to know more about the characters and story uve created! I especially love Velia and im excited for the mystery aspect already

Thank you so much!! And that’s so valid Velia is my fave

Looks like an interesting game, but I want to ask why can't the only female RO be romanced by a male MC? I mean, you only have 3 RO's.

(+14)(-1)

Velia being a black lesbian is an important part of her character and the struggles she goes through living in a small town, and while we would love to have more RO’s, this is our first attempt at coding anything similar to this so we’re starting out small. I understand the frustration but there isn’t a lack of interactive fiction out there with female RO’s who can be romanced by Male MC’s :)

(+2)

Ah okay, I can understand if it's an important part of her character. Maybe you could add a platonic route at the final version of the game, that is, once you're more used to writing interactive fiction. But, in the end, it's your story, you're the author and so it's your choice. Apart from that, I really like the plot and wish you the best of luck.

Platonic routes are definitely something we’re considering in the final version of the game :) and thank u!
